About TEDx
Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” the TEDx program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
About TED
TED is a global foundation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then, its scope has become ever broader.
With its two annual conferences, video website TED.com, initiatives and community projects, TED is now a platform and a global movement focused on meaningful change through the power of ideas.

İbrahim YAZICI
Maestro, Composer
Born in Ankara in 1970 he has studied piano, composition and conducting at Ankara State Conservatory and received an MM degree. He continued his studies at “Conservatoire National de Musique de Perpignan” and obtained three “Premier Prix”. Beneath his education at those schools he also studied conducting with Gilbert Varga and has participated at masterclasses in various European countries.
In 2002 he received the "Artistic Encouragement Award" of HacettepeUniversity , in 2005 he was honoured with the "CavalleriadellaSoliderita" order given by the Italian President and in 2012 he has recieved the “Conductor of the year, Donizetti Prize”.
He was the music director of the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra between 2007 and 2012 and he was chief of State Polyphonic Choir between 1998 and 2007. He paid a lot of efforts to the education and he delivered courses in Hacettepe University, Bilkent University, Anadolu University and DokuzEylul University. He is currently the maestro of Mersin State Opera and Ballet.
