EZGİ TAŞTI

I was born in Ankara in 1995. I have graduated from METU Development Foundation High School in 2013 and received my computer science bachelor’s degree from Hacettepe University in 2017. For long years, I have been interested in reducing the carbon footprint of the countries and encouraging the widespread usage of the renewable energy sources. For that purpose, during my high school years, I wrote a paper about the carbon footprint with a couple of my friends and our paper was published in an international organization called as YRE (Young Reporters for the Environment). In addition to that, under the scope of an international project called as CLIMES (Climate Friendly Management in European Schools), our group attended to conferences as the representatives of Turkey and we made presentations about the usage of sustainable energy. During my university years, I took lectures about “Artificial Intelligence” and “Image Processing” and with the help of the concepts that I have learned from these lectures, I have tried to educate myself for finding an answer to the questions; “How we can use these concepts to develop more efficient renewable energy technologies?” and “Can we reduce environmental pollution via machine learning and artificial intelligence?”.

I have discovered TED community with the guidance of my family. Along that time, I have been giving great importance to TED talks and I believe that these talks and events are crucial tools for self-improvement.
